WAL-TV reports that the FDA has issued a warning that the topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that are used to treat the swelling caused by the common cold can lead to serious health risks.
The FDA has issued a warning to consumers about the use of the anti-inflammatory drugs that are sold under the names Voltaren (a drug used to treat arthritis) and Aricept (a drug used to treat migraine).
“This warning is concerning the potential for serious adverse reactions, including the loss of eyesight, hearing loss, skin rashes, and other skin changes,” said Janet Woodcock, the FDA’s acting director of medical services.
